Dr. Anna Vavilova was raised in a musical and cultural environment surrounded by teachers, composers, and performing artists, tracing a direct lineage to Chopin. Among her distinguished teachers were Professor Kum Sing Lee (a juror of the Chopin Competition), Dr. Sara Davis Buechner (Bronze medalist of the Tchaikovsky Competition), and Dr. Henri-Paul Sicsic (a disciple of Cortot). Ms. Vavilova has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned musicians such as V. Monastyrski (Israel), Aquiles Delle Vigne (Argentina), Martha Noguera (Argentina), and E. Skovorodnikov (Ukraine/Canada), and has attended piano summer festivals in the US, France, Italy, and Russia.

A laureate of the Pacific Spotlight Competition on CBC Radio Two (Canada), Latvian-born Canadian pianist Anna Vavilova has received numerous accolades for her intuitive and sensitive interpretations of contemporary music. The recipient of the KPU Top 25 Music Alumni Award, Dr. Vavilova is the founder of the World of Music and Arts, one of British Columbia's largest private music academies for K-12 students. With a deep passion for teaching, Dr. Vavilova has guided her students to gain admission to prestigious university music programs and achieve notable success in competitions.

Dr. Anna Vavilova is a distinguished RCM Certified piano teacher and examiner across Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels. Her exemplary qualifications extend to certification in teaching beginner and intermediate theory through RCM. Dr. Vavilova holds membership in both the BCRMTA (BC Registered Music Teachers Association) and CFMTA (Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Association), underscoring her esteemed standing in the music education community.

Throughout her years in Canada, Anna Vavilova has continuously performed solo and chamber music. She has also served as a board member, advisor, and juror for numerous international competitions and festivals, including the Abbaye de Pontlevoy Music Festival in France, the Tsar’s Village International Music Festival and Competition in Russia, the Bolzano Music Festival in Italy, and the Mark Rothko Contemporary Music Competition in Latvia.

Dr. Vavilova has been a guest artist and lecturer at KPU University, as well as a clinician for RMTA, where she conducts unique workshops on performance artistry. As a dedicated educator, Dr. Vavilova released over 500 video recordings and tutorials during the pandemic to provide a comprehensive guide to the Royal Conservatory of Music repertoire
