March Minutes 2019

  1. Dina gave us her president’s report for 2018.
  2. Coordinator roles were discussed:
    • Meeting Venue - Adele
    • Starbucks - Leona
    • Refreshments - Debbie
    • Social - Caitlin
    • Workshops - Dina
    • Social media - Stacy
    • Secretary - Jean
    • Student recital: discussed but not decided on due to the complexity of navigating flu season and the protocols in place around it
  1. Year end Luncheon:  June 7th…… ….11:00 festival debriefing………11:30 meeting/luncheon
  1. CFMTA email blast monthly to remind of programs and deadlines:  members present voted unanimously to be part of this
  1. BCRMTA:  2019-20 each branch is eligible for $200.00 from the Heritage Fund
  • We can have a workshop with Katya Pine in October or November on the topic of melody writing. All costs are covered by grants. Is this of interest?  Open to teachers and students?  If you have other ideas please contact Dina.
  1. Do you do group lessons? Are you willing to share your ideas in a meeting?  Please let Dina know.
  2. Ewa provided the financial reports for both the branch and the festival.
  3. Dina suggested creating an Archives File on our website. Past presidents:  she would like all your reports sent to her if you still have them on file somewhere.
  4. Starbucks draw: Sook won!! Congratulations!
  5. Festival updates from Beth:
    • Scheduling is done
    • There was some discussion about awards and where to consider placing some of the money awards.
    • PLEASE: return trophies to Caitlin
    • Volunteers needed for April box assembly meeting:
    1. Print certificates
    2. Organize boxes
    3. Copy adjudicator sheets
    4. Print labels

Members moved to another room for a workshop with Irene Voros at 10:45.
