September 8, 2023 BCRMTA Meeting
- At Abbotsford Community Music School
- In attendance:Adele, Sookja, Leona, Flory, Ewa, Dina, Joyce, Jean
We were brainstorming ideas for the meetings for the upcoming year and came up with some ideas:
- Oct 6: zoom meeting at 10:00
*we’ll discuss whether or not we’ll have a scholarship competition in 2024
*if we do, we’ll need Calvin’s help
- Nov 3: perhaps a workshop?
- Dec 1: potluck luncheon at Leona’s
We discussed various workshop possibilities…..Rebekah Maxner, someone regarding injury prevention.
A new branch list will be sent out to all the members.
Are we wanting to have a Canada Music Week Recital?
- November 17 or 18 or 24th or 25th?
- We need someone to organize it.
- We will do awards for highest marks as per other years regardless of whether or not there is a recital. Please send marks to Jean by October 15th
BCRMTA 2024 Conference in Abbotsford September 13 & 14.

Discussion around the logistics of having 3 competitions at the provincial level: vocal, string, & piano.
Dina will research workshop possibilities and dates. Ewa to look into someone from California.
Please come to the October meeting equipped with a topic for one of the months.
